On saturday it will be my birthday.Very strange to think Ive been here 48 years now and for about 30 of them Ive been doing this! I've got to tell you its all been wonderful so far! I feel blessed and I hope to be able to give back some of the good things ive got in my life over the years...oh and no big party til the big 5-0!

So today I had arranged a little chat with the members of A Pink dream , A French Cure Fan forum run by the wonderful Toberr! I enjoyed it very much and i'm sure for those of you who were not there (and why wern't you?!) he will put up a transcript of the chat Thank you Monsieur for keeping everything going along so well and we will do it again soon!

Okay well time for an update : The new album is now in the second stage where we are recording the songs that we have made demos of and picked what we liked to go on the cd.
Its all sounding a little darker and more melancholy than "Perfect Life" yet at the same time it has a lightness of atmosphere too !?! Kind of hard to explain you'll just have to hear it I guess!
Oh and by the way HAPPY BIRTHDAY SIMON!

So read an interview with Trent Reznor today in the los Angeles times and he said that he sometimes has other peoples music he uses as a kind of "touchstone" when he is recording..well so do I!

Last album it was Can's "Tago Mago" and any Kraftwerk and this album its....

"Trout Mask Replica" by Captain Beefheart and his magic band and Terry Rileys '"A Rainbow in Curved Air"
Mainly I think because I love the way both albums are just EXACTLY what they wanted to do ...no editing for commercial reasons.. and for that they lose nothing as they are both brilliant!

I also use books for the same thing...more on that later!

Hello, In the midst of recording the new Levinhurst Cd we heard some very sad news. Malcolm Ross Tour manager for The Cure for almost a decade from the mid 80's passed away last week.He was only 55. Although I haven't seen him in many years I have some wonderful memories of him and always appreciated his professional approach to looking after the band.I also marveled at how he could organize 60 people for months on end and stay so calm! So 2004 draws to a close and Cindy and I would like to say a big thank you to all the people who came out to see Levinhurst play this year ! We had two great tours that we really enjoyed and we met a lot of really cool people.
Next year promises to be even better .We are getting very exited about the new cd and....Europe finally!
Whatever holiday you celebrate (or not!) have a good one.... .See you in 2005.

Some sad news..... Brian Adsett ,who was from my home town ( one of the original cure wrecking crew) and looked after the Cure as our bodyguard for many years passed away last week.He was truly a legend in the cure mythology and the world will be lot less interesting without him.Rest in Peace

Sorry its been a bit quiet here lately! I have a good reason:
Ive been hard at work writing and recording the new Levinhurst cd ! You knew that anyway ,right? we started in late September but its only recently that I have had all my machinery (studio wise) working (and still a few things to come)..but slowly and surely its taking shape.
It should be out next June (hopefully!)

The working title is "EXIST" let me know what that conveys to you, i'd be interested to hear.

Its a little darker and more intense (so far) but there are some lighter moments too

When we have some finished mixes I'll put them on the site.
